Brooks Continue To Demonstrate Hot Bending Capability - 50mm Diameter Material
Brooks Forgings has become one of the UK’s leading hot-forming companies, specialising in the manipulation of rounds, squares, and flats into complex shapes.
A recent project required forming 50mm diameter solid bars into a cranked hook-style shape. By using a combination of manual and mechanical processes, the bar was formed as shown with the main loop measuring 140mm inner radius (280mm diameter).
Our client requested that the bar remain consistent and smooth with no deformation in the bends which we proudly achieved through the use of specially designed tooling.
A total of 8 formed hooks were supplied to our customer for final preparation and fabrication for the end user.
