Our Bosun's Chair is designed to enhance efficiency and extend work periods when working at height.
Constructed with a steel frame and a glass reinforced plastic (GRP) seat, our Bosun's Chair provides superior comfort, allowing the suspended individual to work longer without becoming fatigued, compared to using a harness alone.
Each chair is tested for a maximum Safe Working Load of 136 kg and is supplied with a proof load test certificate.
Please review the important safety considerations below.

IMPORTANT SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
Usage: A bosun’s chair is a work seat, classified as lifting equipment. It is not a fall arrest system or device.
You are legally required to use it in conjunction with an independent fall arrest system, typically involving a full-body harness and a separate anchor point.
Inspection: A bosun’s chair must be maintained in a safe condition and are subject to mandatory, thorough inspections by a ‘competent person’ at least every six months. Always check for cracks, stress fractures, or degradation in the fiberglass seat before use.
If the seat is damaged, it must be removed from service immediately and replaced.
Always adhere to the specific safe working load capacity (136KG) and usage guidelines provided.
Do not modify the chair or its rigging, as this invalidates its safety certification.
Please refer to LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) for more information.
